I am looking for details about the authoress Hester H Tuxford, whose book 'Modern cookery for the middle classes' was published in the UK from 1925 to approximately 1933.
I have been fascinated by the social history of the late Victorian/Edwadian era, particularly by recipes of the time. My Grandmother had a copy of 'Miss Tuxford's recipes/receipts for the genteel housewife' or similar, which was lost after her death.
is there anyone out there, floating in the ether, who knows where she came from? Where her early editions were published? The earliest listed by the British Library is in 1925.
Any help would be much appreciated!
